I designed and made a Ming-style Phoenix crown called “Peony Twelve Phoenix Crown.”
The whole process took a year. After studying a lot of historical artifacts and restoration pieces, I redesigned the internal structure. I used silk thread to wrap the hollow base, which not only lightened the crown but also made it easier to wear with a hairstyle and to insert the comb. It also avoids using modern materials like stretchy fabric. The crown features “Dian Cui,” made from parrot and goose feathers.
The blue, red, and gold color scheme paired with pearls is absolutely stunning, really classy and elegant.
