Okay, I was so nervous about this, but here’s what I do: start with the inner layer, usually a plain top and bottom so you’re not flashing anyone. Then the main hanfu part—cross it left over right, no exceptions, or it’s ‘wrong.’ Tie the sash around your waist, not too loose or it’ll slip, and add any outer stuff if you’re going for drama. Took me forever to not panic, but it’s pretty straightforward now!
