An Enchanting Hanfu Show at Qingping Ancient Market! Experience a Journey Through Time

With the crisp, refreshing air of autumn, it’s the perfect season to wear Hanfu and stroll through an ancient marketplace. On October 19th, the second edition of the “Han Chang Qingping” National Style Culture Week kicked off at the Qingping Ancient Market, attracting a large crowd of Hanfu enthusiasts. Together, they experienced a stunning celebration of traditional Chinese culture.
The event celebrated Hanfu’s elegance—a timeless tradition explored in depth in our Guide to Traditional Chinese Clothing.

From Yongxing Bridge to Guang’an Pawnshop, from Qingping Lake to Wenchang Tower, Hanfu enthusiasts roamed through the ancient marketplace as if they were stepping back in time. Dressed in beautiful Hanfu, they wandered through the picturesque streets and ancient sites, as though traveling back a hundred years. The event showcased both elegant Hanfu fashion shows and the tranquil beauty of boating on Qingping Lake, creating a strong cultural atmosphere throughout.

Qingping Ancient Market, with its unique historical vibe, seamlessly blended with the rich ancient style activities, drawing in locals and tourists eager to experience the beauty of traditional Chinese culture. Every historical landmark in the area seemed to come alive with the presence of Hanfu wearers, creating a picturesque scene that was perfect for social media snapshots, quickly becoming popular check-in spots.

Visitors dressed in Hanfu strolled across ancient bridges, relaxed by the lakeside holding folding fans, and moved gracefully through the autumn air. It was a wonderful display of national style beauty in the midst of a vibrant cultural experience.

This ancient marketplace, known as one of Shenzhen’s “Four Great Ancient Markets,” has a history spanning over 300 years. The National Style Culture Week not only brought rich Hanfu experiences but also gave the market a fresh lease of life, infusing the area with new cultural energy.

One of the event’s highlights was the restoration of Wenchang Tower. Once a symbolic structure of Qingping Ancient Market, Wenchang Tower had been destroyed in the 1950s, but this event brought it back into the public eye. Alongside Yongxing Bridge and Guang’an Pawnshop, it had been a witness to the prosperous history of Qingping Ancient Market. During the event, Hanfu enthusiasts walked around the tower, blending ancient charm with modern flair, making it feel as though the history of Qingping Ancient Market was coming to life once more.
Similar to Meishan’s Hanfu journeys, Qingping’s lakeside settings and ancient bridges created perfect poetic backdrops.
