  • What Colors of Hanfu Are Best for Festivals?

Posted by SilverGlimmer on February 26, 2025 at 12:01 pm

If I’m wearing Hanfu for a festival, like Chinese New Year or Lantern Festival, which styles and colors would suit the occasion? Should I go for red, or are there other colors that are more fitting for traditional celebrations? Any Hanfu styles specific to festivals you’d recommend?

For festivals, red is a popular color, as it symbolizes good fortune and joy, especially during New Year celebrations. However, you could also choose gold, green, or other vibrant colors that are associated with luck and celebration. Traditional festival styles often feature elegant, festive designs, like floral patterns or embroidered motifs, which make the garment feel more festive.

Red’s a slam dunk—luck and joy for New Year. Gold or yellow’s fancy too, screams celebration!

Red, I think? Saw it a lot for big days—maybe white for something chill?

Bright red or deep green—pops for Lantern Festival. Pastels work for spring vibes like Qingming!
