  • How to Make Wearing Hanfu More Comfortable?

Posted by VelvetNight on February 27, 2025 at 9:13 am

Sometimes, wearing Hanfu for long periods can be a bit inconvenient, especially when I’m walking or sitting down. Are there any practical tips that can make the experience of wearing Hanfu more comfortable and hassle-free? For example, how should I tie the belt properly, and how can I arrange the clothing to keep it neat and tidy throughout the day?

If you’re planning to wear Hanfu for a long period of time, comfort is key. Here are a few things that I’ve found make a big difference:

    · Pick breathable fabrics: If you’re going to be out in the sun or wearing it for hours, opt for something like cotton or light silk. Those are breathable and won’t leave you feeling too hot.

    · Keep the waist tie comfy: Don’t tie it too tight! It should hold the Hanfu in place, but you don’t want it cutting off circulation.

    · Pack a small fan or handkerchief: Especially if it’s warm, having something to keep cool is really helpful. And if you’re out for a while, keep an eye on your Hanfu—touch it up if needed, so it stays looking neat!

Loose fits and breathable fabrics—silk or cotton all the way. Skip tight belts, let it hang natural.
