  • Can I wear Hanfu in summer without getting too hot?

Summer can get really hot, and I’m not sure if I can wear Hanfu during the warmer months. Is it even possible to wear Hanfu in the summer without sweating through it? Are there any Hanfu designs that are more breathable and suitable for hot weather? I want to wear it year-round, but I’m not sure how to make it work in the heat.

Definitely! Hanfu is usually worn in cooler weather because of its layers, but if you choose the right fabrics and styles, it can be just as comfortable in the summer. The trick is to go for lightweight materials, like cotton, linen, or a thinner silk. These fabrics are breathable and will keep you cool even when the weather heats up. You can also skip a few layers if you’re not attending a formal event – the more layers you remove, the more comfortable you’ll be.

Light colors also help in the summer. White, pastel blues, or pale greens are perfect because they reflect the sun and keep you feeling cool. You don’t have to avoid Hanfu just because it’s hot out – it’s all about adjusting the style to match the weather!

Yup, totally! Stick to a light Ruqun—thin cotton or silk, loose fit. I’ve worn it in July, just keep it breezy and you’re chill!

Maybe a Hufu top? Seems less hot than big robes. I’d pick white or something—feels summery and not too stuffy!
