The slipping belt struggle is real, but don’t worry! There are ways to prevent your Hanfu belt from constantly shifting around while keeping it comfy:

Proper fit: Make sure your belt isn’t too tight or too loose. It should sit snugly around your waist, just below your ribs, to give your outfit that flattering shape without being uncomfortable. If it’s too loose, it’ll slip down, and if it’s too tight, it’ll dig in and be annoying all day.

Double knotting: This little trick works wonders! When you tie the belt, make sure to double knot it so that it stays secure but isn’t so tight that it cuts into your waist. It’ll help the belt stay in place without causing any discomfort.

Grippy fabric or linings: If your belt is slipping because the fabric is too smooth, you can try adding a piece of cloth underneath the belt, or look for belts that come with a little grippy fabric lining. It gives it that extra friction to stay put.

Layering: If you’re wearing something fitted underneath your Hanfu (like a fitted top or tank), it can help the belt stay in place. The fabric underneath gives the belt something to hold onto and prevents it from moving around.

It may take a bit of trial and error, but once you figure out the right fit and tying method, you’ll be good to go!
