  • How Do I Keep My Hanfu from Slipping or Wrinkling?

Posted by LuminousGlow on February 26, 2025 at 12:09 pm

When wearing Hanfu all day, my clothes often slide off or become messy when I sit down. This has been bothering me a lot. Should I wear a tighter fit or choose a simpler design to avoid these issues? How do you keep your Hanfu looking neat and intact while you’re out and about?

The key is to choose a fit that’s snug enough to stay in place but still comfortable. Some styles have adjustable waistbands or inner ties that can help keep the garment secure. You can also wear a slightly simpler design to reduce the chances of things shifting. If your Hanfu is still slipping, try using discreet body tape or pins to keep things in place, especially for important events.

Spray it! Fabric waterproofing spray (test a hidden spot first) saves silk from drizzle. Or rock a plastic douli hat—retro and practical.

Rainy day? Opt for polyester-blend Hanfu—dries faster. Silk + storms = sad panda moments.
