• When shouldn’t you wear Hanfu?

I really love wearing Hanfu, but i’m just not sure when it’s actually okay to wear it. I mean, i know it’s perfect for cultural events or festivals, but are there places or situations where it might not be the best choice? Like, is it cool for work, or what about a formal meeting or something? And i’m wondering if it’s okay to wear it at weddings that aren’t Hanfu-themed. I just don’t want to stand out too much and look out of place, you know?

Wearing Hanfu is such a beautiful way to embrace traditional culture, but there are certain times when it might not be the best choice. For example, in professional environments like offices or business meetings, Hanfu might stand out in a way that’s not very practical, especially if you’re in a corporate setting with a strict dress code. It’s also not ideal for casual errands like grocery shopping or hanging out with friends unless you’re going to a cultural event. It’s a bit too formal for everyday settings like that.

For activities like exercising, wearing Hanfu just doesn’t work. The fabric can get in the way, and the multiple layers aren’t great for physical movement. So, stick to something more flexible and sweat-friendly for workouts.

Basically, Hanfu is perfect for formal occasions or cultural events, but it’s best to consider the situation before deciding to wear it.

Maybe not at work or super crowded places? Feels like too much if you’re tripping over it.
