Why Choose Cross-Collar Ruqun?
The Cross-Collar Ruqun is one of the most iconic Hanfu styles, featuring a cross-collar blouse (ru) and a wrap-around skirt (qun). Its flowing silhouette and intricate design make it a favorite for cultural events, photoshoots, or casual wear. Mastering this style not only connects you to Chinese heritage but also elevates your fashion game. For more on Hanfu’s cultural significance, check out this article from China Daily.
① Put on the upper blouse (ru) and tie the right side. Be careful not to tie it too tightly.

② Adjust the center seam, then tie the left side.

③ Smooth out the blouse to ensure the center seam is aligned.

④ Unfold the single-piece skirt and place the waistband at your back waistline, with the side containing the hole positioned at your side.

⑤ Thread the tie from the other side through the hole, then readjust the blouse’s center seam to keep it aligned.

⑥ Wrap the remaining waistband around your waist.

⑦ Cross the two ties at the back and pull them tight.

⑧ Bring the ties to the front, knot them securely, and adjust the center seam one final time.

⑨ Flip the two ties (swap their positions).

⑩ Take one tie and wrap it around the waistband, continuing until you reach your desired length at the front side.

⑪ On the final wrap, don’t pull the tie completely through, forming a small loop. Thread the hanging tie through the loop and pull tight to create an “ear.” Adjust the ear’s length as you like.

⑫ Repeat the process on the other side to complete the double-ear knot.

And you’re done!
