  • How Do I Remove Stains from My Hanfu?

Posted by CosmicRays on February 26, 2025 at 12:23 pm

I have a very expensive Hanfu, and after wearing it a few times, there are some stains. How can I remove these stains without damaging the fabric? Especially for delicate materials like silk or embroidered fabrics, I don’t want to ruin it.

For stains on delicate fabrics like silk, start by gently blotting the area with a clean, damp cloth to remove excess residue. You can also use a mild detergent mixed with water to spot clean the stain. If the stain persists, it’s best to take the Hanfu to a professional dry cleaner who specializes in delicate garments. Make sure to inform them about the specific fabric and embroidery to ensure proper care.

Blot, don’t rub! Dab with cold water ASAP. For stubborn spots, mild soap + whisper a prayer to the laundry gods.

DIY stain mix: Baking soda + water. Gentle on fabrics, harsh on stains. Test it on a hidden seam first!

Oil stains? Cornstarch is magic. Sprinkle, wait, brush off. Works better than panic-googling at 2 AM.

When in doubt, professional cleaning. Better safe than ‘Oops, I shrunk my $200 embroidered sash
